Origin story: An interior designer friend, Valerie Steil, asked me if I would consider making an upscale Mighty Mirth pillow after being given the playful yellow pillow. Without thinking about it, I said yes. How hard could it be to make a box pillow. I once sewed many of my own clothes--I could do this! With the help of Lois Carlen, expert upholsterer for decades, I was able to successfully make two box pillows worthy of the beautiful fabric used to make them.
